Yupo Corporation America, the largest manufacturer of synthetic paper in the Western Hemisphere, recently announced a change in leadership. Andre Fischbach has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer.
Fischbach comes to Yupo from Quadrant Polypenco Korea, a division of Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products, where he most recently served as President and CEO. Quadrant is a wholly owned subsidiarity of the Mitsubishi Plastics group of companies.
During his tenure at Quadrant and Poly Hi Solidur, Fischbach held several different positions of increasing responsibility, including Plant Manager, Director of Operations, and Global Sales and Marketing Manager. Fischbach started with Poly Hi Solidur in 1998 before the company was acquired by Quadrant in 2005. In 1989, Fischbach left the US Navy and joined Menasha Corporation, Poly Hi Solidur’s parent company. There, he ascended through various management levels within Paperboard Division in Michigan until relocating to Pennsylvania with the Plastics Group.
In his new role leading Yupo Corporation America, Fischbach is responsible for all aspects of managing the business including safety, manufacturing, sales and marketing, and strategic growth initiatives. With a strong background in both papermaking and plastic extrusion, coupled with extensive resume in domestic and international business management, Fischbach’s experience uniquely complements the strong technical expertise currently at Yupo. Another asset he brings is his broad perspective to growth and development efforts and business efficiency improvement objectives.
“Our global Yupo family welcomes Andre Fischbach to his new post. His leadership and knowledge of the industry will help Yupo Corporation America to grow to its fullest potential and continue to produce high quality, original products,” said Hideyuki Fujiwara, President and CEO of the parent company, Yupo Corporation.
“As leader of Yupo America, Andre will continue to enhance Yupo’s core strengths of quality, innovation and customer service excellence.” Fischbach and his wife will relocate from Seoul, Korea to the Hampton Roads area in July. He will begin his new position July 18, 2016.
